I had a little cash to fool around with (10$)that I made off of mylot, so I decided I was going to try out the auction, and try to get a feel for it, to one day do my own auctions. I purchased a small bead for 98 cents thinking, WOW! I got a great deal on it! there was no shipping and handling, so I thought, great! they cover that! boy was I wrong!!! not only was I charged the 98 cents, but also 3.95 for shipping and handling, and THEN they wanted to charge me an additional dollar just to insure it's delivery. Now I am thinking, 5$ for a stupid bead. what a waste of money!

well, I am sure not all EBAY was like this, but my case was. LOL! it just so happened that they did not display the shipping costs till AFTER he item sold! that is why I personally think they are a bunch of crooks (at least the person selling the item)

LOL! I really hope not. I WILL pass out though! it isn't a lot of money, per se, BUT for a bead? come on! haha! just stick it in an envelope, I'll pay the 39 cents!

Did the auction say that postage was free?? If the seller failed to disclose how much it would cost in the auction then you should always ask before bidding. If it said in the action under postage that it was free then you should have reported it to eBay. More than likely the seller just wanted to make more money and you'll find that when the package arrives it will have less than that in postage on the package. You don't have to pay insurance if you don't want to - it's just the seller trying to make sure they don't get ripped off if it goes missing ... but if their auction doesn't state that you HAVE to purchase it then you don't have too. If you haven't paid already - you can still get out of this transaction by reporting it to eBay and saying that they are trying to overcharge you with postage. The worse that will happen is that the seller will give you negative feedback and possibly a strike but that's better than being ripped off of your money. If you need help on this or other eBay queries there are always lovely people on the discussion boards [under help] where you can post questions like this and other eBay users will leave you answers. Good luck!!

Hey, thank you so much! I did read a policy that stated that the sell, although rare could be struck if EBAY was contacted within 12hours. I am hoping that they will cancel it anyways just due to my ignorance. if not, then I guess I will just be stuck buying a stupid bead, LOL!

Wow, yup be careful with ebay. There's a lot of people on ebay who like to take other people's money. http://youcan-work-at-home.blogspot.com
