I am an Indian and in India we call our currency "rupee". In our country now the dollar rate is going down, from fifty rupees it has come down to forty two and sometime forty one also. it fluctuates a lot, i think becauase foreign investments are coming, so the rate is going down of dollar and up of rupee.

In the UK we use pounds (sterling) and pence. £1 = one pound. 100 pence = £1. At present there are just under 2 American dollars to a pound. At today's rate there are about 80 rupees to 1 pound sterling. If you consider it costs about £7.50 per person to go to the cinema in London which equates to about 600 INR. It costs £1 for the minimum bus journey - 80 INR. To buy a 2 bedroom flat where I live it costs about £330,000 which is 26400000 INR. And I wonder why so many of my cousins and friends from India keep asking me about coming to live here!
