How do ratings affect your myLot account

I am new here and I was just wondering what the point of the ratings are. Is that what decides who gets money or is that how you get your star reputation? I haven't given anyone a negative rating, only positive or none at all. Mostly the latter. If anyone knows, please tell me.

the ratings that we get will have an impact on our star ratings. the more plusses we get, the higher our star ratings will be. once you reach 100 points earned to your credit, you will have a star. the starting star rating, depicts your acceptance level during your first days here in mylot. most mylotians keep on posting responses during their first days because, they want to see that star coming up fast. you will notice that responses posted will give you a point for each one. meaning, it is the fastest way to keep the points earned going up. you may post dissenting opinions once in a while. always remember that you have to be kind with words no matter if your opinion given is dissenting or affirming.

Thank you both. Both of your responses were good. But I gave you best response because I had to look up the word dissenting. Well I guess I better get posting if I want my star.

Hmmm, the star rating will not affect your mylot account. It is just a matter of your reputation here in mylot. If people think that you have a input worth a positive rating, then good for you but if not, then it will just not matter as long that you are enjoying here in myLot. You'll have your star when you reach your 100 posts. I don't give also negative rating...
