I am not agreeing with it becoz a barking dog bites me last week. So now barking dogs also began to bite. What is your opinion?

I am not afraid of the dogs, I adore the dogs and to me normally they don't even do anything the big ones and the dogs that I don't know. If I was able I would open a kennel for the stray ones

A barking dog with a wagging tail might not bite but I know I wouldn't be around a barking dog if I didn't know them. For some they bark because they are happy to see someone for others they bark to protect their area warning their owners someone is there that shouldn't be. I tend to watch a dog that is barking at me to see if the tail is wagging and if they are prancing or if they are mad and trying to warn me to not come close. I am sorry you got bit hope it gets better soon.

I don't agree. Just because a dog barks doesn't mean it is going to bite you. There are different kinds of barks. I have a thirteen year old brittany spaniel that has never bitten anyone. It depends on if the dog feels it is being threatened, abused, or teased. Each dog is different and people need to respect that. I am sorry that you were bitten by a dog. I hope that everything is alright now.

I have a gash in my elbow that would disagree with the "Barking dog does not bite" statement. I dont' think the dogs intend to bite people purposely, I think they are just so frightened, it's an instinct for them to react.

I don't agree, my dogs bark and have never bitten anyone, and one is 8 years old, the other two are 6 years old. You can tell a warning bark from an agressive bark, and it really depends on the nature of the dog or if it really feels threatened. Having said that, I am sorry you got bitten. I got bitten by a dog when I was a child, the funny thing is, the dog didn't bark at all, it was a friend's dog, and we were playing on the porch, the dog was behind me and I ran down the steps and he lunged at me and bit me for no apparent reason.
