I was sleeping nicely and when I reached up to scratch my neck I felt something there that wasn't moving when I touched it. I jumped up quickly out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I flipped on the light and looked in the mirror. There was a tick on my neck!!! I freaked out yet couldn't wake everyone up so paced a bit around the bathroom. I remembered once when little the doctor telling my mom to use hair spray on them to put them to sleep. I sprayed my neck probably more then needed but again was a bit on the freaked side. I pulled it out and lit it on fire. I really hate being woken up like that. Now when I pulled it out I got dizzy. Not sure if it was just the thought of it making me dizzy or what but I am still dizzy 2 hours later. No clue what that is all about. I can tell you the bedding will be ripped off and washed today but will that make sure there are no more there?

OMG! I am freaked out for you!! I would call the doctor and tell him what happened. See if there is a reason that you might be dizzy from a tick~ He might want you to go in and get it checked out. Yuck....I am starting to itch just thinking about it. You poor thing!

Hi, that really sounds freaky and i think im sure i would also freak out if something like that happens to me. You can kill them with pyremetrin mix just spray a bit of it, not too much. You should also cut your lawn grass really short and spray some pesticides that contains pyremetrins to prevent them from coming inside your house. If you have pets like cats and dogs i suggest you try Frontline Plus. Its really effective.

Rocky Mountain spotted fever Symptom - Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash
You poor thing. What a horrible way to get woken up. Your family must be very heavy sleepers. You could be dizzy from all the hair spry. You might not have been conscious of how much you sprayed near your face. The thought of ticks make me shudder. Do did you notice if the tick was engorged. Rocky Mountain spotted fever cam be the results of a tick bite. But don’t despair because it usually takes hours or even days of attachment for an infectious agent to be passed from the tick's saliva to the human bloodstream. In most cases, the tick must be attached for 48 hours or more before the bacteria can be transmitted. If I found an engorged tick on me, I'd simply treat myself for Lyme disease" (this quote is taken directly from the medical journal - Journal of Infectious Diseases 175: 996, 1997)

I would check my body all over for more ticks. You should have your tick bite checked out by a doctor. You could get a tick-bourne diease that could be seriously fatal. This can be treated with antibotics.
