The best way is paying for "promotion" Although free ways are effect if you know and where to do it. It's always best to stick your links inside signatures and profiles, Generally mentioning to friends and asking people to spread the word helps. You should put the links to stories or whatever on digg.com so that people who search for that will see them. It will go to your site when it opens and there's a hit from somebody intrested in your topic and might put you under their favorites. That's about all I can suggest.
