Do all men feel afraid of responsibilities?

I mean, do you feel afraid of getting married to someone you love? This is with regards to one of my discussions I have posted here in MyLot. I feel frustrated with my boyfriend. After 8 years of boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, he don't even proposed to me yet. I guess I know the answer why he did not ask me to marry him until now. He's afraid of responsibilities. I'm sure. Do all men feel this way? Please share your comments.

I have a friend who wants to propose to his gf, but doesnt because he doesnt feel he is good enough to marry her bc he can't afford the ring he wants....much less a wedding...so maybe it is not you or cowardice thats stopping him, but something else.

I don't think anyone is afraid of getting married. It is the consequences after marriage that people are afraid of, man and woman likewise. It is not only man, I would think. In your case, if your boyfriend does not propose, why not you do the proposal? In today's world, it does not really matter who should be the one making the first move. Can you be sure he is afraid of responsibilities or he is not ready to shoulder the responsibilities? A man's pride surely does not allow his wife to provide for the family if he is not able to do so now. lol.

I guess not all men are afraid to face responsibilities when it comes to any situation in life, but sad to say there are just really some who are afraid when it comes to this, the reason we don't really know exactly what it is; only themselves know for sure.

I don't think they're some but instead most are somewhat like that. I'm not sure about it. Who knows? Anyway, thank's for the comment you have given.

All men dont feel that way - only cowards do. Im sorry if I sound harsh but if he has nto asked you to marry him yet, he probably never will. My boyfriend and I just broke up over the same issue. So Im a little harsh and bitter about the whole thing.

I do think it does frighten some men to think to spend their rest of their lives with one person. Some men may have had an experience to where they don't want that married life. My husband didn't want to be married he said until he was ready. I think it is better to marry when you know you are ready because there may be still some things he wants to get done before you tie the knot.
