haven't posted much latley and thought I would share with you all what I found during our trip to hatchers run, and outside petersburg. Place had been hunted out so bad, 6 of us went and the only thing we found in 4 days of hunting was this harmonica I found along the backside of the lake. Nestled in between two small trees and in the weeds. This area they also fought and camped. I hear there are more treasures out there, but finding them will be hard. all in the woods are deep holes, holes where you can see it's been all hunted out. Hoping this next spetemeber trip will be much better and lots more stuff to be found. my metal detecting buddy says he has only found one set like this is such good condition in 30 years of hunting. So I was happy, was a good find!:) krissy

thatnks! Yes september will be better...In september we are trying a different battlefield. The battle of Antietam river, that is in sharpsburg and the sorrounding areas of maryland, including Hagerstown, my birthplace and the birthplace of so many of my family. I have 8 aunts and uncles and a whole bunch of cousins that still live in hagerstown, some of these homes are very old and sit right on part of the battlefield, I bet most of this land my family does own has never been touched with a metal detector and the possibilites could be endless there. I know my nana's home they raised all their kids in this home and was built way back in the 1920, possible my uncle rick will let me hunt this yard...All I have to do is ask and leave their propery as I found it. :)

that is neat, I love the harmonica. :) yea, first beat the object against the tree trying to knock dirt off it, thinking this is more junk, then I noticed what it was and kicked myself in the butt, cause could have broken it,then found other half in same hole. Knew what it was cause I have seen my buddy jeff dig up broken ones.
