For most of my life I couldn't say 2 words to an audience. Then after my Mother's 90th Birthday Party I decided to change that. On that day we all sat around and told stories. My 2 nieces made good speeches, and I sat there in silence.
Soon after that I joined a Toastmasters Club and began to learn public speaking. There were about 25 members, between the ages of 20 and 40. I was much older but was well excepted into the club. Everyone learned at their own pace, and I began to make one speech every month. Soon I was excepting an award for the best speech of the evening. It took me 5 years of practise before I graduated with a Certificate. About 4 months after that, My father died and I was asked to give the Euology at his Funeral. It was the hardest speech I ever delivered, but also the most satisfying! Finally I could speak in Public!
