With all the dangers that our kids face today specially internet related would you check your kid´s email if you happen to accidentally find their password?

Absolutely and I do. I will go to any measure to ensure my childs safety. I am very discreet and I make sure she doesn't know I do these things. But I do check her online journal, her myspace and gaia accounts respectively. I don't like taking chances. We are having problems with her, she is depressed, her grades are just completely falling apart and it is like she doesn't even care. So, we have our worries!

Yes, I would. I feel it is my job to protect my children and they do not have the same privacy rights as an adult because they are simply not adults. Too often parents start giving their children the privacy of adults too soon. As soon as children get tall or develop, all of the sudden parents too often feel that this child has all rights to their room and emails. They are still children and still need guided. With that said, I think it is important that if a parent plans on checking up on their computer and email use then that should be told to the child from day one so they aren't shocked when you do look. I wouldn't be looking everyday but if something gave me reason to be concerned, then I would be on there tracking everything.

most definately i would. As much as the internet has some advantages, its also full of things teenagers shouldn't be aware of. Its not about been over-protective but about been a little bit sure of what your children do online. I do believe it wouldn't hurt

I am not a mother now, but if this happened on me after I am a mother, I will not check it out and will forget it. only if my children allow me to check something of him/her, I will check and discuss the problems with him/her. my mother is also do this, so I will follow my mother's method. she never see anything about my privacy , only if I let her see it and want to talk some problem about my privacy. I think it is a good method for both mother and children.

Of course I would check their email and whatever else they were doing online. As my daughter gets older (shes 4 now) but as she gets older and with the way technology is advancing I plan to watch her like a hawk! The internet can be a world of illusion for some kids and I dont want her to get sucked into a perverts manipulative game.

Accidently? When my child is old enough to use the computer, I plan to track every move he makes online, including reading his email. I can understand wanting to give your kid some privacy, but there are just so many bad things out there, and I wouldn't want to take any chances. How old is the kid in question? I suppose there are a lot of really different considerations for young children than for kids who are practically out on their own anyway.
