The way to succeed in the world is to lie, cheat, and steal!

At least that is what we are teaching our children in the media. I saw a promo for the next reality show about pirates treasure. The way to win the gold is to lie, cheat, and steal. Survivor was similar. The way to win, to succeed, is to get what you want any way you can even if you lie cheat and steal. And these shows are a big success! I don't know why people are surprised when your young people break the civil and moral laws. That is what they see on t.v. as the way to win. What will it take for adults to put a stop to it? I don't believe in censorship. But the best way to change the content in the media is to not watch it or buy it. Boycott the sponsors and they pull out the money. Stop watching and they lose their ratings. We DO each have the power to change things if we do it together!

It is really sad youdontsay! to see people enjoying and condoning things which they won't like their children to practice. When we see our children exhibiting some uncivilized behavior, we seldom are retrospective and we hardly look back and see what went wrong and where? To me, these types of shows under pretext of freedoms and entertainment are doing nothing good to society. Freedom comes with responsibility to utilize it the way it should be utilized and that is for betterment and positive change. Children have the right to be given a pure environment, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. History has told us that nations stand on values and that any nation who abandoned values was destined to perish. Honor, stability, strength and prosperity of a nation demands sacrifices and those sacrifices must not only come from the leadership but also from individual members of society, from each family. The minimum sacrifice is to act and feel the responsibility for every action, even if it hinders our short term enjoyment and entertainment. I support your suggestions for individuals to avoid these types of things, peacefully. I do have hope for a better future for all of us as long as people like you are present who feel individual responsibility:-)

Thank you. I know how hard it is to take a stand on something that create friction in the family. But I also know that as an adult it is our responsibility to protect children and to model good behavior. No one ever said it would be easy.

I agree..You know, come to think of it, though as adults we are responsible for all of our actions but a cosiderable part of our personality is a mere reflection of the past environment to which we were exposed. I am really thankful to my parents and feel the same responsibility towards my children.

Just half agree with you that almost TV shows like you said: Do whatever to win, success, or to get what you want even if you have to lie; cheat and steal. However, if you don't see those shows, you never know, so the important thing is you control yourself, you create the way to do the thing with or without cheat/lie or steal. All things are up to you, you can't blame that you affect from TV shows that you learned for that. NO, you have a right to choose which way and which one that you think is the best for you. For the Kids, i totally agree that stop them to see OR let's them see with parental guidance.
