travesty - why did americans vote out melinda?

Even though she had the best voice out of them all, I think a lot voters didn't like her personality and found her to be too old for the competition. I liked her for her voice and the way she wooed the crowd and performed however when you compare her to the other two, Jordans personality really shines through and so does Blakes - his talent is unique and not like the others. After her last set of 3 songs, I was voting for her to win and was also shocked when she was sent home.

I was totally shocked Melinda was voted out. I think the judges were too. I would have bet money that she would be in the final two and probably win it. As they told her many people have not won but still made it. Jennifer Hudson is a good example of that. I'm sure there is some record producer that is contacting her.

Me too! I had hoped Melinda would be the next American Idol! I love her personality, from being shy and little less confidence to a confident woman.. she's funny too. And of course, i believe in her talent. Voice quality-wise and performance-wise, she has lots of edge from Blake and Jordin. As what Simon said, she's one heck of a singer! Oh well, however, truly entertainment has its superficial nature.. less votes because maybe Jordin and Blake are more physically attractive than melinda?? Hmm.. for me, it's the talent and the personality that counts.

Melinda is out? Man, I have been so busy of late, i didn't really get the chance to catch the American Idol. She is such a sweet lady with a powerful voice. Her looks reminded me so much of Tina Turner when she first started out. That innocent grin and the bright eyes were something refreshing to look at. I thought American Idol is all about singing skills. Guess americans have a different outlook when they are selecting an idol. So, now it is down to one guy and one girl. Who do you think will win this round? Guy or girl?
