How do you love God?

I don't ask 'how do you love your religion?'! I think I have to distinguish both of them. I ask such question because I often hear or read about people who dare to die in the name of their religion. And sometimes I do not understand when someone kills someone else in the name of (so-called) God. A question raised in my mind, what kind of God do they love by doing so?

How do I love GOD? Does that mean in what way do I attempt to honor HIM? I try to live in obedience to HIS written word, which is called the BIBLE. I know that I do not live it perfectly, obedience to GOD is a progress not a simple act.
My GOD is a loving GOD, and all of HIS commands to the individual are for peace, sharing and gentleness. GOD does give directions for society to protect itself.
Following GOD does not make one a weak little pushover, obedience to GOD makes us strong, competent and bold. Bold enough to face the ridicule of others when we are being obedient.

Obedience to His written words is a way of loving God. I think you're right, it is not a simple act. To apply The Words in our real life is a sole challenge, and an unending struggle to match our will with His Will.

@sukandar_ag Lord Jesus Christ (whom we acknowledge as the 'only begotten Son' of God) said "If you love me, then you obey my teachings." The burden He lays on us is light: It comes down to Three Rules---'Love God with all your strength (that's physical, and the spiritual will support those actions),' 'Love your neighbor as if he is a part of your body,' & 'Act as if all the people you meet are looking at you to see the way they should act (i.e. "Go, make disciples of all'),
When people say, "I love you, God," they are being sarcastic little so-and-so's if they don't say what that made them DO. It's like when your mom or dad or spouse says, "I love you," & you respond, "Ehh, whatever," or "meh-meh-meh-muuuu 
." What do you think your parents think when you say that? That's what God thinks when you 'say you love Him' but aren't DOING anything but living your life just the same.

I love my God so much because I feel His presence in whatever I do. Without God, I will be like a lost sheep, without a guide. I show my love for God by obeying His commandments as faithfully as it is possible for me, although it's hard to obey these laws without praying to God for strength to overcome a lot of temptations that this world offers. Those who kill for the sake of religion are fanatics. They do not really love God or whatever they call their God, but rather they are blinded or guided by false prophets.

Thanks Sukandar_Ag. Yes, it is awesome what God can do for us specially in my case that without God in our midst, my husband and I would have separated a long time ago. I couldn't imagine a world without God who is always there for us mortals. God bless your family, too!

I think i understand your doubt the people who kill themselfs and who kills other on the name GOD is not doing all by themselves but they are doing this by coming in others words and by getting ming wash.
I think they are not correct in there part.I love my GOD by following his Sayings and what He wan'ts to me to do.That's by Prasing HIM for all what He Given to me and my family and Serving the needy.

I hope you're right Shak143. Mind washing is supposed to be responsible on the manipulation of God's Words on behalf of a certain ideology.
