My husband was a big help when I was in labor with our first son. He fanned me with a pillow as I was hot, but the hospital staff said they couldn't put on the AC for me or my baby would freeze, so for TWO HOURS my husband fanned my face, keeping me cool. I couldn't believe it was this long, but one of the nurses there apparently timed him! LOL Too bad we didn't have one of those hand held fans...then he wouldn't have had to go through that! LOL I'm sure my husband would have helped with my second labor, but he was taking care of our first son, and that in itself was a big help.

As you can see from my response, my mind is NOT where it should be! LOL As you can see I put two of the same paragraphs in my last response. I DIS NOT mean to do this! I had typed the first paragraph using a program then pasting it here. I had then preceded to add a little extra at the bottom. I ended up copying the entire response and pasting it, forgetting that I had already pasted the first half. My apologizes for making such a mistake!

This is the ONE thing that I could say my Ex (sons father) was good at. He was VERY good when I was delivering our son. He held my legs when I was ready to push, he fed me ice chips and put cool rags on my forehead and then after it was all done he turned to his mom and thanked her for giving birth to him (he seen how hard it was). He even cried when I delivered our son by c-section. Unfortunately, I can't say he was much help when it came to everything else.

With our first my hubby and my mom were in there. My hubby and I were both glad she was there. He wasn't a whole lot of help, but he was just as scared as I was. It was hard for him to see me in pain. With our second one he did a lot better because he knew what to expect. Our third is coming in July and he's finally getting a son, so I expect he'll be an old pro at it :)

My husband was absolutely wonderful. I would not have been able to do it without his help. I had a long and difficult labour...30 hours!! Just the pushing part took 4 hours. He did not sleep the entire time and spent a lot of time just encouraging me, talking to me, massaging me, holding me and taking care of me. He was so good through the birthing experience. I could see the joy in his face when he first saw our baby and his first words were "He's perfect..just like you"!! And he got to cut the umbilical cord. He was such a proud Daddy. He took a lot of pictures and called everyone.

LOL this is a funny topic, My man was in the room when I gave birth to our daughter and so was my mother who at the time I wasnt very close with, But if it wasnt for her I dont think I could of delivered my daughter. My man was no help at all, he was walking around like he was lost and didnt know what was going on, my mother on the other hand obvioulsy knew how to help me & she did an awesome job, she held my legs when they needed to be held and helped me with my breathing. At one point I just told my man to sit back and just watch the birth. After that day me & my mothers relationship got alittle better.
