I like to watch horror movies.Amityville horror is one of my favourite movie. However movies like saw triology, motel,Hannibal lecter(new) are very horrific.I like to watch if the movie has both suspence and horror.
What is you favourite horror movie?Did you have any nightmare after watching any horror movie?

If you didn't enjoy the saw/hostel etc type of movie, then I'd avoid 'Audience', a wonderfully terrifying film from Japan. I think the most frightening films are those about human horror, it's more 'close to home' than the sci-fi, or mythology types.
I think the two most frightening films I ever saw were 'Nightmare on Elm Street' and 'Hellraiser 2'.
On a more psychological, or spooky, level, Korean and Japanese cinema are making many great films that fit the bill. The Ring Trilogy (Japanese versions, not the US remakes), 'A Tale of 2 sisters' & 'The Dollmaster' are great.
If you enjoy very old films (and I mean VERY old), then try Fritz Langs 'Nosferatu' from the 1920s.

Whilst not regarded as a horror movie, I was reminded today, that the most horrific, and harrowing portrayal of evil, I have evered witnessed on film, is Dennis Hopper's character in David Lynch's 'Blue Velvet'. If you haven't seen that film, I would recommend it.
