Does any body know why cat don't like shower ?

now you can't put all the cats in the world into one basket lol...my brother in laws cat LOVES water! she jumps into the bathtub when his daughters are having a bath and jumps into the shower when he or his wife are showering...so there are a few cats in the world that actually like water! but not mine lol

LOL! I wish my cats could jump in the tub or shower without shredding whoever is in their apart! But they do, so...no hope there! lol. I think it is funny that the cat will go in the bath and shower with them! Nosey fella!

my last cat loves water to every time someone would turn water on she would come running as for my kids taking a bath she would jump in with them too the same when the shower was it is nice to hear of another cat the same as mine i think it is cute lol the cat i have now is getting used to water but it not like that at all

I think cats don't like showers because (other than hating to get wet at all) they don't like having water splash down on them. They probably feel threatened and scared when it falls on them, especially since shower water kind of falls hard.

A cats fur is very important to it. It forms an integral part of a cat's personality. A cat spends a lot of time on fur maintanance and the reason is that it provides a measure of waterproofing and, if kept in good condition, keeps them warm too. yeah i wonder too...most cats hate water.....in tv shows they show cats fearing water...i really want to know though

I have had lots of cats. Some of them hated water and some loved it. Just depends on the personality of the cat. I have one cat now that showers with me. I had one that as soon as she saw me running water in the sink to give her a bath disappeared, so I would make sure she was in the other room asleep.

my oldest two cats love being bathed-i think the water soothes their old bones.
a lot of cats though,i think the sudden wetness startles them.could be why a lot of them don't like it.

Cat don't like water because just like us they don't want to get wet unnecessarily. The water is cold and some don't like to get cold. If they want on their terms they can enjoy water.

I had a cat who slept in a sink with a dripping faucet. She always wanted to sleep there. I know another cat who likes showers. And I know a breeder of persians who gives a bath to the cats regularly. Other people say their cats hate water. Not every cat is alike.

My kitten Annie actually loves water. She is mesmerized by fresh or running water. She sits on the toilet seat and watches the water disappear (and sometimes falls in). She paces back and forth beneath the shower curtain when I take a shower, and even disappears out the doggy door during rain storms and comes back soaking wet.
