Comments on godaddy?

I'm thinking of buying a domain name and godaddy currently sells .info for only 99 cents! For those who have used them, how are they? They do have free hosting but I believe they put ads in it? Is it a lot of ads or just a bar at the top? Could we put in our own ads? Any info would be highly appreciated. This would be the first time that I would be buying a domain name, if ever this pushes through.

I don't know how they are for free hosting, but for paid hosting and as a domain registrar they're one of the better, especially in name of the domain registrar.

I've been using Godaddy for years now and I'm quite satisfied, but I only purchase domains there, never tried their hosting yet.
