Gallo Still Has 'Life,' At Least For Now(SoapOperaNetwor k.com) -- Melissa Gallo sets the record straight concerning recent rumors, but her future in Llanview is still in doubt. It now appears that Llanview will not be losing a Cramer girl, at least for now. Gallo's contract with "OLTL" will soon be up for renewal and there are indications she may not pursue a new contract with the ABC sudser. Soap Opera Network, reported the story last week, has learned that Gallo has publicly responded to the rumors surrounding her departure. In a recent interview, Gallo debunks rumors that she will be leaving "OLTL" in August. "I will be in Llanview for at least the next 8 months. And trust me, it's a great thing because I've been told of lots of exciting things to come for Rex, Adriana, and Tate with lots of twists and turns. I hope the fans will dig it and that they will continue or maybe start to root for Rex & Adriana finding their way back to each other in a deep way." Gallo's statement, however, makes no mention of her plans once her contract expires which, incidentally is just over eight months from now on January 20th. It seems only to imply that she will remain on "OLTL" through the duration of her present 4-year contract, which she signed upon joining the show in January of 2004. Her current contract would keep her on the air until late March/early April of 2008. So, if Gallo chooses to leave "OLTL" and Llanview in the dust, don't look for it to happen until late in the year. Until then, Dorian Cramer Lord can rest assured her daughter will remain in Llanview.
