Treasure Hunting

I used to dream of going up in my grandmas attic or moving into a new home and going to the attic to find one of those big trunks with all kinds of kewl things in it. LOL I think we all have a bit of "pirate" in us that would love to find a hidden treasure of some sort.

I love history, so I'd probably keep a hoard for research. When I was overseas, I was given permission to go on an archaeological dig and was allowed to keep what I found if it didn't meet the governments definition of a treasure. I can't say what exactly I had, but the items still fascinate me. Their value...more historical then sentimental, but one item has me guessing...Its a lead pendent with some writing. It didn't match the period we were digging, and was pretty ornate.

I've never found anything like that and as mihimolly says here in the UK if we find something we're not allowed to keep it anyway but have to hand it in to the authorities. Personally I would be tempted to hold on to it but then I guess that's not much use if you can't sell it or whatever. It would depend what it was I suppose and how easy it would be to find a collector willing to pay money for it. It would be nice though!
