In restaurants, do you check your receipt to see if they billed you correctly?

I always have a habit of checking my bills at restaurants to see if they have billed me correctly because there was a time when I was billed for food that I didn't even order. I think I got this habit from my parents. I know of a friend who just looks at the the total amount then whips out their credit card without even bother itemizing everything on the receipt. I was just wondering if anybody else do this?

I look at the details of all bills before I pay it. Its a good practice to get into. occasionally everyone makes a mistake so if your paying attention you can catch in time. There have been a few times when I have been over charged at a restaurant. Once they even brought me the wrong bill. Some how the they got my bill mixed up with someone elses. Mistakes happen, its good to pay attention.

Hi, I always check the bill no matter where I am. A restaurant, or a store. I have been charged too much a few times. Last week I went to a restaurant and was charged for an extra chicken dinner. We only ordered one and got one but was charged for two.

See, that's exactly the reason why I check my bill. I think my family had an experience of being charged for something we didn't order.

Hi natalie, Usually I will check the bill, but if I am in a hurry then I don't always look at the bill. As far as I know I have never been billed for food that I didn't order but now you've got me wondering lol.

I do. Some restaurants bill you extra charges for things you actually havent ordered. When I'm overbilled, I demand for rebilling. When it's underbilled, never mind, it's a blessing in disguise.

I will check my bills occasionally. If it is the restaurants that I am used to visit, I know how much about we will spend, then I don't think it is neccessary to check. Otherwise, I will check it for sure.

Good habit, I do the same!!! I always want to know if they billed me correctly. I have friends that are well off and some of them don't check the bill which drives me crazy...but I guess you can't make people care if they don't want to:)
