or go with the flow? I have a friend that always has to try and figure everything out. She you can't seem to relax and go with the flow and accept that she does not need to know and figure everything out.
Are you addicted to reasoning or laid back and say well it must have happened for a reason and not worry about trying to figure everything out? I try to figure some things out but I'm not on a mission to try and figure everything out.

I guess my problem is perfectionism, because I get very frustrated when things don't make sense to me. Things have to make sense for me to be able to deal effectively with them. If I don't understand why someone is acting a certain way toward me, then I can't do anything to make it better, if I am the problem.
Not to long ago, I had a mentally ill friend of mine over and we ahd been talking for several hours and it was now 1:34 a.m., so I asked her if we could continue the conversation the next day. I made it clear to her that my head was hurting and I was ready to go to bad. Not only did she not leave, but she continued to talk about the same issue that I told her I was tired of speaking of.
I asked her nicely again and again to leave, but she would not. I did everything shy of physically removing her from my room. Not only did she call me everything but a child of God, she came back and hit my window so hard, it nearly shattered. Why, why, why, I have asked myself this question a million times. It was not the first ime she had done this, but it will be the last.
I like to help people, but when I can not make sense of something and they are not giving me any clues, I would rather not be bothered. Even the word of God says that "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. " It also says that wisdom is the principal thing, get wisdom and you will recieve understanding." I might be wrong, but I have never heard of a wise person simply going with the flow, they need understanding.

reasoning is a good thing and not something you can be addicted too. Addictions are considered bad things.
having said that, it is just a difference in personalities. There is a downside of going with the flow as well,
some people never think just act on impulsive which can get them into trouble,
some people just do whatever one else does without thinking if it right for them.
I have a very analytical mind and so I do more reasoning,
doesn't make it better or worst but the best choices I have made in life came from reasoning.
However sometimes I have to sit back and let it flow but I did come to that conclusion that I needed to do that through reasoning.

I am not at all. There would be times that I would like to reason but other times, I'd like to have fun and let things be.

There's no way to figure out everything in life, and I'm sure your friend doesn't believe that she can do it. But reasoning isn't an addiction, it's a necessity. Just going with the flow is a way of abdicating responsibility for your own life.

I try to figure out some things but most of the things that happen I realize that God has allowed them to happen. That whatever happens, God has had to give permisson before it could happen to us SO God is in control and I try to remind myself of that and then go with the flow.!
