Do you keep your nails long or short when you are typing on the pc? I see women at grocery stores with llloooonnnngggg nails that still run the register like crazy. I have to keep mine short or I end up hitting the wrong keys and have to go back fixing stuff all the time. What about you?

Oh a post about nails--I am so excited to write something... I have been a nail bitter all of my life! I have only grown my nails out 4 times in my lifetime--and the longest time only lasting 6 months. Now my nails were short--I mean no nail bed and bitten completely to the cuticle! I am not kidding either. About June I had the sudden urge to stop bitting them and now they are absolutely beautiful! They grew very fast and I don't know how to take care of them. I have always used my fingers to pick up items, open things and type...now these darn nails are in my way!! I have some that I have not cut that are so long because I don't know what the heck to do--- My hubby told me to get a manicure because I deserve it :-) Now to answer your question..I have had to backspace so many times while tyoing this --- yes they get in the way!

LOL I've never been able to bite mine b/c they are so strong. I agree that you should get a nice manicure and be sure to tell them that you do alot of typing so they can make them the right length to be able to type well. Also watch them and ask lots of questions. Most ppl will love to help you learn how to take care of them. Congradulations!! I tried growing my nails but it was difficult to type and with 2 kids it was difficult to maintain them. I prefer short nails now. It's a lot easier now 'coz I've scheduled a day every week when I trim my nails as well as my kids'.

I have mine short right now but I like to have artificial nails sometimes too. I can't let my real nails grow long because they break too easy. Well a few of them are longer but they will be broken off in a few days I'm sure. LOL I can't type though if they are too long because I'll be typing in extra letters and stuff. LOL

Same problem here. I either keep them short or get really friendly with the backspace key. LOL Thank you for responding! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I don't mind long nails but not too long. Too short will not help me open a can either, so I will keep it in between. I think one day you will get used to long nails if you have been doing the job for some time.

Maybe that is how those women cashiers that have huge curling nails do it...maybe they have been doing it so long that it doesn't matter to them. Thank you for responding! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I cannot have long nails and still be able to type. I have tried this before. My brother took me to get my nails done for my birthday once and I oculdn't do anything with them on. I am a nail biter so I am not used to long nails or even the sport cut ones that I tried out as well. My husband loved them because I could finally scratch his back. But I didn't like them to good. Oh don't get me wrong they were very nice to look at but hell to use. Kept poking myself and then kept getting stuff under them bugged me and going to the bathroom and forgeting about them was painful. So I keep mine short barely showing the whites of my nails.

Thankfully I'm not a nail biter but I do hate getting stuff under them. I love how they look when their long too but they are pretty useless as far as getting things done. AT PEACE WITHIN

actually me i keep my finger nails short because its more neat and you can do anything if your nails are short...however, on my observation its hard to maintain if the nails are long because you need to keep it in shape and should be properly polished...but i have my friends who i really i admire because she maintain the cleanliness and in shape of her fingernails :)

I always like my nails cut short. I like them neat and clean. I can do most anything with short nails, wheras with long nails they can interfere with other things. I find it very comfortable typing on my keyboard having short nails. Also, I have a baby and it's just proper for me not to grow my nails because I'm afraid I would scratch my baby's skin, accidentaly. I know a friend who have really long nails and she just had a baby. I was wondering how she could take care of such a fragile one. Well I guess, it just depends on the person and how she does things and if she can handle without having any accidents or having a hard time then it's not a problem.

I would wonder too how someone could handle a baby with long nails. When I was in school I loved long nails but now I prefer short ones. AT PEACE WITHIN

I keep my nails short. Long nails interfere with so many things I do, they're not practical. I don't like them much anyway.
