Are you confident?

I'm not very, BUT I do believe that, confidence, self love, respect and believing in something greater are very important....Do you think these things are important?? Why or why not??
I wrote this poems about 6-7 months ago, and it goes along with this subject
Made From Thee:
To feel comfort in my own skin,
To not feel -
As if my being is a sin.
To be content with me,
To be alright,
This - would feel so free.
I am made from thee,
Yet, I don't feel worthy.
As if blind,
Clearly I can't see,
For the sight of me,
The whole of me.
This world in all its arms,
Did crush me.
How do I fix what is so completely broken?
How do I comfort a soul that feels so lonesome?
I cry when looking at my own reflection,
For it's a sore reminder of past,
Regression, foolish submission,
Small hands praying,
To go back to heaven.
Yet, I will go on-
For I know the me of yesterday -
Can not blow out-
The burning flame I created today.
I will escape -
From the binds that cross my heart -
I will paint the inner me -
And hang thy art.
How did that make you feel?

Confidence, self love, respect and believing in something greater are certainly very important for getting by in this world. I have no admit that I'm not a very confident person and if I was, I would probably be following my dream of becoming a vet tech rather than doubting myself and not taking risks, taking risks is also important I think.

I agree those things are important when trying to get by in this world.
I think you should follow your dream Jshean, being a vet tech is an awesome thing to want to be, and I bet you would make a great one.

Confidence takes nurturance which takes determination and perseverence to even attempt gaining ground when others try so hard to bring you down or keep you down. It is a constant struggle to feel confident but if daily one takes the time to build it, it usually never leaves once strongheld . . .

I do believe that if you do not have a love and respect for yourself then it is hard to get that from anyone else. If you don't respect yourself or like who you are that comes out in you adn the only people who prey on people like this are ones that want to take advantage and bring you even lower. there are some people out there who will try and help you gain your confidence in a relationship but from my experience they are very few and far between.
