there are lots of ways to make money in runescape, sometimes you don't need any levels to make money, but these generally people find boring (they still work well though) and sometimes it helps to get your levels up. a few non level tips would be... non members: kill chickens and collect feathers. they are lvl 2 and they do not hit you at all, so no food is required, feathers sell for 5-7gp each and you can sell them pretty easily at the fishing spot near the barbarian village. kill cows for their hides. cows again are low lvl, though they can hit you for low amounts of damage (it really doesn't matter if you are about lvl 15+) cow hides sell for 100 each so 1000 of them would get you 100k. mining iron. as you only need 15 mining to be able to mine iron it is pretty suitable for low lvls, it sells for 100-110 each ore. rune essence mining. you don't need any levels for this as rune essence can be mined at level 1 mining, but you will need to do rune mysteries quest. normal rune essence sells for 25-30gp each. for members, you can always collect flax, this sells for 100 each and lots of people buy it. it is pretty fast to collect and you can get roughly 1k flax per hour meaning you can make 100k per hour. start doing slayer tasks, the monsters from tureal or mazchana are generally easy to kill plus they tend to drop money and items that you can high alch or sell. sometimes slayer monsters drop clue scrolls and the rewards can sometimes be worth alot of money. doing slayer tasks will also help to increase your combat lvl. herblore, either collecting herbs and not identifying them so you can sell as "unids" at 1k each or making potions, herblore can be pretty profitable. if you are going to just collect herbs, try and get around 100-200 before selling, then go on the forums to sell them. collecting secondaries, this is again to do with herblore, but it is collecting the secondary ingredient like limpwurt roots, people generally pay around 500 gp for most secondaries (limps, snape grass, eye of newt ect) vials and water filled vials. by going to the herblore shop in taverly, you can get empty vials for only a few gp, get roughly 1k of them, then fill them. go to the forum saying you are selling water filled vials 250 ea. for around about 1-2k spend on empty vials you will make 250k. hope some of those money making tips help you out a bit.

this is what i tell all the lvl 40s and such on how to make fast money..and no skills needed at all..first..pick 1kflax.spin it to bowstring(10crafting required sry).but you dont have to spin it.you can if you want..for double the money as of picking flax.just pick flax..in bunches..like..sel in 1k-2k.most value and better way to make money..is in the bowstring.get 1kflax..spin into 1kbowstring..sell for 200ea per string.so 1kflax brings you 200k.after that buy 2kflax.as you spin it..you get 2kbowstring,meaning you just made 400k.buying 4kflax gives you 800k.and 800kflax spun to bowstring brings you 1.6mill..hooray..your first mill..if you really never had a mill before..and you want one.its probably everyone who just starteds dream..this is if your member.free worlds.id say..making a pure..preferably a mage pure..which needs lots of money..atleast 500k to start off..to pk..and own all those armors to sell..brings in more money per hour..then as a normal fighter or mage.but if you wanna make more money..you have to pay for it..and it takes patience..if you dont have patience.then your asking the wrong person.time is money..as my grandfather used to tell me.time is money.

Of course the forums are the best place to sell items but does anyone else find the whole process a drag??

if you have 2 windows (or tabs) open, you can browse the forum and still play in game, that way you can carry on with your average runescape day and be there if someone replies to your topic to buy or sell, better still you could just state you want to be pmed in game and keep your private chat on, that way all you would have to do is check your topic every now and then to bump it :)

I find that raising your skills is a good way of making money because you can train it and as new updates come up that allow you to make a profit in your skill it is very benificial and guranteed money not like merchanting.
