My husband wants us to spend 2 weeks seeing the sites with our daughter this summer. I don't know how I feel about it. I'm scared, but why should I let 911 run my life. After the threat to Fort Dix, I'm more worried about it. How do you fee? And would you go?

that's exactly what terrrorism was founded on - they want everyone to live in fear! if you let your fear take over your life - you've already made terrorism succeed in you. life happens regardless. according to statistics, most accidents happen inside the home - you can slip in the bathroom, cut yourself with a knife in the kitchen, etc. go out and enjoy yourself...live life like it's meant to be enjoyed and appreciated. everyday is a gift from God and the ability to appreciate everything around us are blessings that we should all be thankful for and enjoy. i hope you have a great vacation!

Ok, you know me a little to well...LOL...I have slipped in the bathroom and broken my wrist, I have cut myself with a knife so bad I needed stitches, so why should I let terroist win! We are going on vacation in July to Washington D.C.

Hmm i understand your feelings but i think its ok now. 9/11 is almost 5-6 years back and there is no point in worrying so much. In india we face terrorism everyday. U know we live a life where anything can happen anytime. We are not scared of terrorism and this is the way every one should think. Thats the way to fight abgainst it. I understand your concern about your family but u know waht . living and dying is not in our hands. Its all decided by god. So be fearless. I wish you and yr family a hapy vacation! Cheers, Tutul

Thanks tutal...I just keep thinking if something should happen to my daughter...but that is just the mom in me. We live in a very safe small town in the midwest where we don't lock up our cars at night, our shed has never had a lock on it, and I'm not sure if we even have a key to lock our front door. Maybe that's part of the reason why I am worried. But I don't want the terrorist to win, so I think we will go and have a great time!

wo thats kewl. Its nice to know that there are still places like that. I would like to know where are you situated? Anyways as u have described your place, its going to be little difficult to adjust. So be little careful. There are lots of nasty people around and u can minimize the risk if u r cautious. Safe journey! Cheers, Tutul

My nephew was married there last month and there were no problems. If you quit doing the things you want for fear of terrorist attacks, then the terrorists have already won. You know the old saying, you could step off a curb and get hit by a bus. If it's your time, it's your time.

LOL...not in my town. No buses. No stop lights. I will not let the terroirsts win. So we will have a wonderful vacation this summer, as long as I learn to look for those buses before I step off the curb.
