Can anybody suggest me how to speak effectively & efficiently in English........

My wife has been to the US since 1985 but she lived in Japan fore six years prior to this. English is spooken a lot in the Philippines but not as a first language. I have seen my wife's English spelling improve when she took English as a Second Language in a Local school here in Monroe, Mi. USA. Louella also has not Philippine neighbors as this is a mostly white neighborhood and all ther fellow workers in place of work spoke English. The company was called Diamond Electric but it was owned by the Japaneese and she spoke some Japaneese to the owners and bosses. The majority of friends and relatives are like me ..German American but she has friends that are Hispani, Thai, Viet Nam and of course fellow Filipino/Filipina. English is a very hard language to learn as there is so my inconsistencys..even my wife is better at spelling then I am as she has taken college coures in computer and Psychology...etc etc. Pratice makes perfect but you no doubt will see errors in this message if you look hard enough. Try to have fun with this new language and pratice with your friends and family as even when I go to the Philippines the Filipino people have trouble because I talk to much slang english and I talk with a "twang"...the Canadians tell me this too! We only live 49 minutes from Windsor Canada. They speak another form of English too..But the Philippines have 85+ dialects and Tagalog is the chief one they use in Manila but there are 7,100 islands...so you see the problem?

Just speak out. Try your best express yourself. I think it's beat way to improve your oral english that speak with other in english everyday. I believe you can use your hometown language evry well. why? just because you use it frequently.
