Where can i get Linux for free?

I am looking for the OS-Linux so that i can replace my 5 pc computers. Is there anybody who has used it? is it better for internet comminication? Where can i get it? Please someone to help me.

You can find your suitable Linux distribution here: www Linux org/dist/ If you are new to Linux my suggestion is to choose a desktop distribution like Mandriva or Ubuntu. I currently use Mandriva 2007.1 Spring Edition and I'm very satisfied of it. It is simple and fast to install (about 25 minutes) and in particular easy to use. When you use Linux you are more secure when surfing on the web because the most part of software viruses are executable files made for windows, so what you have to is to install and configure a firewall to prevent intrusions or your machine.

Ubuntu sends out free printed Ubuntu linux cds. www.ubuntu.com

I'm a RedHat user myself, but ubuntu is also a good distro. You can download Fedora core for free from here: http://fedoraproject.org/ As a newbie, it will be wise to check on some howto's to guide you and get acquainted with linux. Check out this link: http://linux-newbie.sunsite.dk/index.html
