Planning my husbands SURPRISE 50th Bday Party...HELP!!!!!!

My husband is turning 50 in May 2007. I would like to plan a spectacular birthday party but am at a loss for ideas other than your typical finger foods, dj and friends. Are there any ideas out there to make it memorible. I thought of maybe doing a time capsule or maybe have a comedian dressed as an old lady....just a couple of things off the top of my head. I am creative so if there are any decorating ideas that would be helpful as well. Thanks for your help.

Time capsule is pretty good idea. Think about things your hubby likes, eg. sports, hobbies, etc and maybe you can build a theme around that. For example, if he likes gangster films, get everyone to dress as mobsters and molls, do the place up like a speakeasy. You're never too old for dress-ups, I say. Karaoke, perhaps? Embarrassing but fun!
