Hi friends. I just wanted to ask why my lot is very slow? When i click any link or click on any discussion it takes a lot of time to load. Other sites are loaded quickly. I am using broadband have excellent internet speed. In orkut if i click any where it will load in a millisecond. But on mylot it takes atleast 5 to 10 seconds a page to appear.

I don't think there will be any use because mylot is deliberately keeping it services slow to control the no. of posts.

I too have broadband and this site gets so slow at times. I noticed it got worse after they added the Blog section. It is just like your computer, when you overload it, it gets slow. If you have too many programs running at the same time is is slower than if you only have a few open. When I started on mylot there were 62,000 members, now it almost 93,000 and I believe mylot does try to upgrade their system and keep up with the demand but it is growing too rapidly. Just look at the traffic here, the numbers are high.

Jump from 62,000 to 93,000 is quite small. Orkut has innumerable no. of user's (in crores). But it's speed is very good and i don't have any problem with that. I have an acccount in perfspot also and it's speed is also good. I have problem with only mylot.

I don't have this problems. Mylot loads at normal speed just like all the web pages I visit. Maybe you could use some plug-ins in order to not load images or other types of objects that can slowdown the load process.

You are lucky then. Not only me but most of my friends also complain that mylot is slow. I think this is done deliberately by the mylot administrators so that someone cannot give as many responses as he want. If my mylot can have good speed i can increase my posts fron 20's to 200 in one day.

Hmm, i have read this complain more than once and there are so many answer for this question, some of them told it because of you point if you have big point number so it's will become more slower but what i see here is you point is 18 so that answer is not really suit. So i'm trying to give my own opinion now, i think there are so many to load in mylot webpage, and mylot need to update every second about discussion or respons that user give, so i think thats make i slow. I'm not expert but its just from my logic thinking.

I think it is because it is layouted on a table. If it were on purely CSS, then it would be a lot faster. My old blogs were also designed using tables and they were crappy slow even on broadband.
