Satin stitch (suitable for quilting quality) on memory craft 3500

Can anyone please help me get correct specs to do satin stitch on my Memorycraft 3500. The manual mentions the foot but does not specify the stitch in its particular stitch section. Ive fiddled with zigzag and changing stitch length and width but its no where near the quality I need to do a stained glass effect on a quilt I wish to make. Can anyone help me plkease? I also experienced some jibberish in the section on the blind hem stitch... the number does not match the picture. Again I want to do quilting... applique this time....and need specific stitch number, length and width of stitch for best quality. Shall be very grateful for your help. Many thanks. Sue Bottrill
