Making stupid discussions.

i have been here for 7 months now and have never done particularly well with the number of responses i get. I have always tried to start quite deep, thought provoking discussions and tend to get between 10 and 20 responses per topic. However, I have seen many discussions with well over 100 replies. I have, of course never got anywhere near this number and i got to thinking why. Well a friend of mine on here said it was to do with the thinking involved, so i set one up to test this out, something that took a minimum of thought and would still pay a cent. I launched one asking what is your favourite toothpaste? well the responses came thick and fast, but still only got 50 or so, lol. So I guess generally speaking the more innane and facile the topic, the more responses you will get, but also it needs a very active friends network blessed be
