Who is your favorite band, current or classic it doesn't matter?

The Beatles rule my world. There are several bands I like, but they're still alone at the top. After them, come the Rolling Stones, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Roxette (really??? Yeah, really!), etc. Well, I have a weird taste! :)

Bands, my favorites are the Decemberists, the Arcade Fire, Coldplay, the Flaming Lips. More so the Decemberists right now, that band is so verbose and the frontman writes the most impressive lyrics! The lyrics are usually stories and is so poetic (as in, has stanzas and rhyming schemes) and it's just so breathtaking. Love! My fav singer/songwriters are Regina Spektor, Damien Rice, Jeff Buckley, Sondre Lerche, Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, Rachael Yamagata.. ah there's so many! My number one is Regina Spektor though. Her intelligence and style is just brilliance. She uses her voice as an instrument and it just works. I can't get enough.

I like alot of the Classic bands too. The Rolling Stones,Beatles, Queen l could go on and on. Now there isn't as many great artists out there IMHO. The ones l do like are , Gillian Welsh, Norah Jones, Alison Krauss and Chris Isaak.
