Your Friends Kids. . .

Do you and your spouse have good friends that you love spending time with but they have a child that you just can't stand? We do and he is hyper, loud and out of control. He spits, is destructive and disrespectful. We have so much fun with our friends and the other kids get along fine. They have 3 kids and he is the only one like that. Hopefully it is just a stage for him and will soon grow out of it. Any thoughts?

Yes is the short answer. We are very close to one family. I met my husband because we both knew the lady. We got married the same year. We had each of our children the same years but we had a boy then a girl and they had a girl then a boy - so both pigeon pairs. I have never got on well with their boy. He is loud mouthed, very large and thinks he is the only important person. He is not very polite and that can't be the upbringing as the parents and the daughter are. I would have liked to have spent more time with the family but could not trust myself to be patient with the boy. My family spent more time with them but I try to be working or made excuses. They are all teenagers now and leaving home so perhaps we will be able to spend more time with the adults now. We have still stayed friends with them.
