cheap wines sometimes being the best?!

Sometimes the best wines I find may only cost $5 or $10! Why is this? It seems silly to me, or maybe I don't have that refined of a pallet. Is your favorite wine cheap or really expensive?

My favorite is like $8 a bottle, pretty cheap but it is my favorite! My husband will go to the store and buy me something else and I get so mad!! If I wanted to try something new I would let you know, until them but me the one I like =) I probably don't have a very refined pallet either though!!
