In the present generation,who should understand more, the parents or the kids?

In the generation now where a lot of things have changed and keeps on changing, there are a lot of issues that both parents and kids are constantly experiencing. From your point of view, do you think that in a parent-child relationship, who should be more understanding, the parent or the child? For me, i think it should be both ways.FIrst, the parents should try to understand their kids especially if their kids are teenagers or young adults already that they should have their own space or certain freedom. Parents should be more understanding because they have experienced it also before when they were young and they should be more on guiding their kids rather than prohibiting them from doing things kids like. On the other hand, kids should also try to understand that their parents also experience issues (like health,age,or emotional problems) and they should also try to understand where their parents are coming from whenever they impose a rule or discipline you.
