I just arrived from Manila, an hour away by plane from our place..I left last May 16, and here I am, just barely unpackedmy things because I am catching up with this discussion. You see, we Filipinos love to bring pasalubongs (bring home) to family and friends whenever we arrive from a trip. It may consist of foodstuffs or delicacies from the place, accessories, and anything which we bring home from our travel. For this reason, I did last minute shopping yesterday at Tutuban Mall for shirts, blouses, shoes, etc. which I brought home for my husband, daughter, son, household help and friends. I am not sure if other people around the world also practice this....But it's good to be back!

Welcome back. Yes, I do sometimes bring home gifts for all my family and friends. Glad you had a good trip and glad you are home.

I sure am, and I'm grateful for the nice welcome. It's nice to know you also do what we like doing--bringing gifts home from a trip...I guess human beings do share this particular practice, so we don't really get a "culture shock" whenever we're in another country.
