Today i received a mail from Yahoo in which they have mentioned that i have won a prize of $500 as my account is selected 1 of 12 top winners account. They have given me a link also to click. When i clicks it a window appears in which they asks me to enter payment method. When i selects paypal they displays an error message in which they informs me that i'm not the premium member of the Yahoo Games. If i want to cash my prize then i need to create an Yahoo Games account and for that the regestration fee is $8.75. When i try to register with yahoo games they asks me to create an e-gold account. When i tries to create e-gold account they informs me that it is not possible to create an e-gold for you. So i want all of you to help me. Is Yahoo really gives such Prizes? If yes, then how it is possible to cash it using Paypal? Please do help me to know the reality.

If you really got a question about this email. You should contact Yahoo directly (do not relpy to the sender). I've never heard about Yahoo giving prizes. If they do they are sure to inform all users that they are holding a competition. Its also fishy that you are not a permium member and yet you were valid for the competition. Usually you have to be valid to claim a prize before you are even entered into a competition. Also I don't think Yahoo would use the word "premium member" they call it "All-Star member". Being a member doesn't cost you $8.75. It costs you $7.95 a month. I would say that the email is a scam. You should report this email to yahoo.

Since this is a scam and you've already given them your personal details. I hope you didn't get any money removed from your accounts.

I am also such a winner. I can find hundreds more for you. The only thing that happens here is that you lose $8.75 . But by the time the email comes to you their accounts get suspended and you are unable to make the payment. Then that means you are lucky. Just think logically. Why do you have to pay if someone is giving you money. It is like my saying to you, "if you give me ten, I will give you 50". Any baby who knows arithmetic knows that it is easier to say "I will give you 40".

Why would Yahoo ask you to create an egold account? When the payment window opens are you still at yahoo? If you want to give money away, you should just go out and give it to the first homeless person you see. At least you will know where your money is going..... Don't get caught up in the moment of thinking you have won something w/ little effort....think, does this really make sense?

That's bullshit. It definitely a scam. If you really won it, they will not require you to register this and that, moreover , there is a fee. Delete the message.

Beware this is an scam and this is generally being done by the persons who purported to be African. Once I also received such a response where I was told to have won 2 Lakh pund and told to send my details. After sending the detials I was demanded 20 thousand dollars on the pretext of processing the sum. I declined and asked them to adjust this money from the won amount. Thereafter they disappeared.

Absolutely a scam. I even received an e-mail that i won a million dollar just for using the internet. The email said that they held a raffle with Bill Gates and my ip address has been chosen. Haha. Don't believe it even if they sound so true.
