Oh I love trivia! The black box is actually bright orange so that it can be spotted quickly and easily by recuse efforts. The 100 years war lasted 116 years. Strange name for a war huh?

The 100 years war went on for about 116 to 117 years from 1337 to 1453. But we round up the years and say 100 years war. As for the black box, it is not black. Mostly it is orange colour. But there is no rule for the colour. It is a recorder of events and though commonly associated with an aeroplane, a motor vehicle also could have a black box.
