Are you for abortion or against it? And why?

I would never have an abortion, I could not kill something that has not yet had a chance to live (particularly after becoming a mother). However, having said that I believ every individual has the right to make their own decision. Some people may believe that they have a valid reason for not bringing a child into this world, ie: victim of a rape, medical issues in which it would be cruel and painful for a child to be born, etc... Every one is entitled to their opinion... And to make their own decision.

erielle, in the days of slavery, would you have looked the other way and said, Well, "I" don't own slaves, but it's my neighbor's right to have slaves if he wants to... After all, it's legal...

I agree with this. I beleive in Abortion when it comes to me. BUT, I also beleive that people should have their right to their opinion. So, I do not think that they should make abortion, illegal, no.

I am against abortion. There should be no reason why someone couldn't keep a child or at least have him than put him up for adoption. I just don't understand it.

Let me give you a situation: What if a stranger rapes a female, and she ends up pregnant? Is she wrong for not wanting the baby? Or how about an angry exboyfriend who raped his exgirlfriend because of jealousy of a new boyfriend; she ended up pregnant but can't afford to bring a child to the world. Is it still wrong?

Well, it is her choice to make. What exactly is wrong anyway, right? It is all how we perceive it. I, on the other hand would give the baby a chance. I wouldnt abort. It is my responsibility as a woman to nurture my children, but that is just my opinion.

I don't believe that this is the kind of subject that can be talked about in general terms. In my opinion, even if I were raped I could not do it, but that is probably more to do with the fact that I am a mother. However, I would not blame anybody or think any less of someone who made the decision to have an abortion. It is more unfair to bring an unwanted child into this world and let it suffer or be neglected then to... hmm I don't know, I can't answer this subjectively, I keep thinking of my son... All I will say is the right decision by any means is the decision that feels right for the individual...

I'm against it. But yet again i'm for it. I hate the fact that people murder a child but what if they were raped and cant stand the fact of having a child bringing back the painful memories. Sure, there's adoption. But it's hard to give up a baby at birth :(
