What is best way to avoid rats other then using mouse trap?

Recently i have a problem dealing with rats.At first they are not that agressive but thing has changed whe they realised i did not take any action on them.They are getting so aggressive ,eat any thing they could from the kitchen to bath room.
Is there any electrical device that could scare away the rats from destroying my stuff?

keep all the food outside your house and you will see all the rats outside your house rather than in your rooms :)
Dont mind my foolish words they were to make you smile , hope you are smilling.
Anyways you could try rat killing pesticides , but if you have pets then dont use it, it may harm the pet , the other option is having a man from the pest control.

Is there any such devises to scare rats? I doubt. But any way you have to kill them. I think you are not willing to kill them. You have to kill them. Put mouse trap or poison or cats or any thing. Otherwise they will increaes in numbers and become a real headache.
