of the Force! Okay, first my husband the post stroke workaholic got into World of Warcraft. Now we are both Old School, Table Top, Dice and Paper, Knights of the Dinner Table kind of gamers. We like the interaction that comes with being with the other players. Since WoW allows for gamers to 'meet up' and interact I said - what the heck - this is something we can do together that does not require cleaning the house, inviting people, coordinating schedules, baby sitters, etc, etc, etc My first couple hours on the site where - 'less than perfect' - I'm just not a Computer Gamer - I had to 'learn' the control functions, get used to the 'display map' appearing 'reverse' of what I 'seemed' to be doing, getting the 'stop running' thing down, movement, view - all that by the third hour I was completely in HATE of the damn thing - then slowly the 'fiddly bids' started to come together - and then it was FOUR HOURS later when I realized it had been FOUR HOURS. there is still a bunch I haven't figured out, like some of the chat functions and getting them hot buttoned, etc One of my other issues is that I'm trying to avoid is some of the other player characters - I've got one that keeps trying to flirt and he's like 15 (as in Years Old) I'm NOT a teenager so I mainly ignore anyone that I don't 'know' (we have some of our gamer friends who were on this long before we were - gads! - and we're working toward meeting up) My husband has been 'approached' a couple times as well by 'teen players' - while it may be a 'game and cute' we are avoiding even the 'appearance of impropriety'. I may even start a separate topic about that issue. ;) So - have you been Seduced by the World of War-crack or are you still Resisting the Urge to be Assimilated?
