Will the Red Wings bounce back?

After losing yesterday's game in overtime in a game where they completely dominated, will the Red Wings be able to bounce back and win games 6 and 7? It's ashame that a bad bounce with less than a minute left spoiled the game. The winning goal was really bad to watch...I could tell that it was trouble as soon as the puck was brought out in front of the net. I'm trying to stay positive. There is a bit of semi-recent playoff history for them to fall back on. In 2002, the Wings were down 3-2 against the Avalanche. They won both games to move on to the cup finals. If memory serves me correctly, I believe that both of those games were shutouts by Hasek. GO WINGS! Bring the series back to Detroit!

I didn't see the game live. I saw it when I came home from a birthday party. I heard that we lost so I saw the game knowing the ending. It seemed like These Red Wings lack the killer instinct. They should have won in Anaheim when The Ducks didn't have Pronger. I don't know why they are not playing with the fire I am used to seeing. I miss Stevie Y and my favorite player Brendan Shanahan. And most of all Scotty bowman. Do you think that Scotty had to tell his players to play harder? With the 2002 team theymay have been scored on first but you could feel that they would come back and win.I hope they can recapture the fire and they play smart. It they can stay out of the sin bin and if they can stop the little mistakes, like failing to clear the puck, they will win.

Shanahan was/is my favorite player as well. It took awhile for me to think of the Red Wings without him. At least with Yzerman, you knew he wouldn't be playing for them sooner or later and that he would be in the organization for life. The one jersey that I own is for #14! You know that Scotty would have them practicing the power play (especially the 5/3) like crazy with multiple designed plays. Obviously I have no idea if that is what Babcock is doing now, but from the play on the ice it seems that their go-to 5 on 3 play is the cross crease back door play. Which is great when it works, but the puck often gets deflected away and cleared either out of the zone or back to the point. They need a 1 timer threat on the left wing to have that play be more effective (Shanahan's specialty). Nervous times for Red Wing fans everywhere!

We'll have to see. As a Sharks fan, I saw first-hand what the Wings are capable of so I don't think they can be written off at all. It's going to be tough, Anaheim is a deep team that has scoring and defensive depth through the roster. But Hasek is playing lights out in this postseason and he can carry a team. I'd love to see either team against Ottawa. Personally, I think that Anaheim has a slight advantage being home, but it would not surprise me at all if the Wings forced a Game 7. I am all for a Game 7, they are always incredibly exciting.

If the Wings play with desperation and act like it is an elimination game, they should win. They will need to keep the intensity on for the entire game, get a lead early (preferably more than 1 goal) and not let the Ducks into the game.

Do you think they are missing Scneider? Wouldn't he help with both offence and defence?

I really think that they are. He was key on the power play and gave them 2 shooting options (Lidstrom and Schneider). Without him, they just have to defend against a Lidstrom shot from the point.

I really hope they can bounce back. I cant believe they lost that game. It will be tough to win two games in a row. I really want Stanley!!!!

It's do or go home time. I would love to see another Red Wing parade downtown.

It's not looking good for the Wings. While I thought the Wings might have a chance of coming back after losing two games they deserved to win, the 3-0 score right now in game 6 means it's probably not going to happen. Maybe next year :-(

The Red Wings just don't have the offense to get them to the finals. Hopefully Dominik Hasek will come back because he did a great job this season and would be quite tough to replace. It is time for Mike Babcock to create some new offensive schemes.

As a HUGE Shanahan fan, I agree about the offense. There were so many times, especially on power plays, where a left winger shooting on his off wing would have gotten them a goal. I'm not saying that they have to sign Shanahan to get that back (though I would love it!), but they definitely need a presence on the left wing on the power play to give them a couple more options to score.

Not only was that a fluke of a goal, but the penalty on Pavel was kind of a fluke too. I am a huge Red Wings fan, but I have my doubts. Giguere is outplaying Hasek, and I believe the Red Wings injuries are starting to take it's toll, the Ducks are just deeper at this point. With that being said, anything can happen, and I believe Hasek will bounce back and be awesome. If the Wings win tonight, the Ducks are in trouble. It's exciting though, that is for sure, been a great series! GO WINGS!! Jim
