Scheduled C-section but gone into labor?

I'm scheduled for a c-section on June 12. My doctor told me that if I go into labor before to go into the hospital and they will do the c-section before. I'm worried because I haven't been feeling the contractions but I have been having them. Has anyone gone into labor before their scheduled c-section? What happened? Does your water break at a certain amount of centimeters?

I didn't have a c-section, but you can have pain-free contractions. They are quite possibly the Braxton-Hicks contractions which are just your body getting ready for the real thing. Have you tried timing them? If they're the same time apart and gradually get closer together, it could be labor. If you're unsure, just call your doctor's office and ask them about it. Might make you feel a little better. Everyone's water breaks at different times. For some, it's the first sign of labor. For me, I had to have mine broken because it didn't do it on its own. Give your doctor a call and good luck!

Thanks Its not braxton-hicks because I've dilated with them so its the real thing but the thing is I haven't felt anything.

I have never had a natural birth but if your water breaks before a scheduled C Section, they will rush you in for an emergency one - well, that's how they do it here in Oz! I was over due with my first & there were no signs of going in to labour at all! I realise you've probably had your baby by now & congratulations - i hope everything went smoothly for you!

when you will be experiencing labor pains, you cannot be mistaken. you will be sure of it. contractions do not come with easy pain which is highly tolerable. even the first ones which come, although much less painful when a woman is about to give birth already, cannot be mistaken for anything else. you will know instinctively that you are having contractions. the pain is different from the kinds of stomach pains that you have been through before. since june 12 is not that far from today, prepare all the things you will need to have with you when you go to the hospital for admission. keep walking in the early mornings. this will make you stronger and better prepared for the fateful childbirth day. once the contractions are coming in strong at regular intervals and, you are sure that it is becuase the baby wants to come out, go to the hospital immiediately. good luck on your delivery day. be a happy mom to a healthy child. best wishes.
