Do any of you my Mylot family know any good chicken recipes? I love to cook and chicken is one of my kids favorites. But to be 100% honest I only know how to make fried chicken. And lord knows fried chicken is not the best for for ya. So I was wondering if anyone knows any healthier ways to make chicken?

This one's very simple, healthy and my family loves it. 1 cut up chicken 2 - 4 potatoes cut into wedges salt pepper powdered garlic grated parmesan cheese dried basil Put the chicken in the pan and then add the potato wedges in the spaces between the chicken pieces. Sprinkle with the salt, pepper, garlic, parmesan cheese and basil. Bake for 1 hour at 375 degrees. Remove from the oven and serve.

You can also substitute pork chops and bake for 50 minutes or the thick "country style ribs" and bake for 1 hour. Very versatile recipe, it only takes 5 - 10 minutes to put together and you can use the time it is baking for doing other things.

I like to grill or sometimes bake chicken for something different. I will mix a marinade of about 8-9 tbsp. lemon juice,1/2 tsp. oregano,1/2 paprika,1/2 tsp poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. [Not sure of the exact measurements because I just eyeball it]. I mix all of this ingredients together in a ziploc plastic bag I add my chicken pieces to the marinade and place in the refrigerator for about an hour.

Unfortunately or fortunately for the chicken I am a vegetarian and not in a postion to contribute . But I would like to say think again before killing the innocent for your food . There are other sources of nutrition that do not involve killing an innocent to fill your stomach . Give it a thought . Stop eating non veg today !

Welled cleaned and washed 12 pieces of chicken(a whole chicken). 1 onion,3 cloves garlic, ginger,1 small green chilly, salt, 5 large tomatoes. First pour 1/2 (half) a cup of cocking oil into a curry pot and fry the smashed garlic and ginger let them turn golden colour, then add the chopped onions and green chilly. Let the onions turn golden colour. Add salt to taste, 7 cloves, 5 cardamoms, 10 black pepper seeds. No sooner the onions turn golden add the chicken pieces. Let it get cooked for 5 minutes but dont close the pot. After 5 minutes add 1 teaspoon full of red chilli powder,1/2 teaspoon of taurmic (yellow) powder (1 teaspoon full of corriander powder. Roll the chicken in the mixture and add 1 teacup of yoghurt (if you dont have) cut the 5 tomatoes and roll the chicken again in the whole mixture. Keep it closed and let it get cooked. You want gravy you can add 1 cup of water. Cook for 10 minutes in moderate fire. Then you can enjoy with your kids. I hope you understood what I said but if you try ones or twice I am sure you will understand and enjoy the meal.

Yeah...my housemate just cooked a delicious meal last night. Something new. Its chili chicken with black beans. The good thing about this is, you could adjust the amount of chili you put in. Like in your case, you have to consider you kids. do you want the recipe? Its yummy!..good with rice..

I do make chicken in a skillet on the stove which my family loves. I use one beaten egg and a little water and Italian flavored bread crumbs. I dip the chicken in the egg and water mixture first and then coat it in the Italian bread crumbs. I use only olive oil in the skillet with some salt and pepper and I cook the chicken in the skillet until it is completely browned. I blot the chicken on a plate with paper towels, but this is really a healthy dish overall. It's very easy to make and really tasty.

You can try this south indian chicken curry. Grind the following items in a paste A few shallots 5 pcs of almonds 5 pcs of raw cashew nuts A few pcs of mint leaves A few corriander leaves Step 1 Heat up some oil in a pot and saute the following items 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds A few curry leaves 1 big onion - sliced fine 1 cinnamon stick 2 anise 4 cloves 2 cardomms Fry till it's slight brown. Then add the grind paste and saute till the raw smell is gone. Add 4 tablespoon of meat curry powder (Baba's brand is good), 1 tablespoon of chilli powder, a pinch of tumeric powder and add the cut chicken parts. Add water, maybe 2 cups. Add salt. Cover and let it cook for 7 to 10 mins. You got a nice bowl of chicken curry. You can omit the chilli powder if you won't want too spicy. You can have this curry with bread or rice.

Ingredients: Garlic Onions Tomato Chicken Chili Sauce Black Beans Maggi Savor Marinate chicken with maggi savor, 5 - 15 minutes would do. Then saute garlic, onions and tomatoe, add in chicken. wait till chicken is half cooked then put in chili sauce. Simmer then add in black beans. Chili sauce would preferably be the bottled one. You may add salt according to your taste. Hope you have a festive meal with your kids.

Actually I make chicken a few different ways. I have a kind of chicken tettrazini dish. You just take the skin off the chicken. Then get some pasta sauce...and add it to the dish with the chicken. You can add some onion...green pepper...and any seasonings you prefer...garlic...pepper...thyme...basil..oregano...etc. Then just bake it in the oven for about an hour...you can serve over rice or pasta...and it makes the chicken tender....I am actually writing a family cookbook too....

We love chicken coated with crushed pretzels and fried in olive oil. It is crunchy outside but tender inside. Another way is drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with seasonings like, garlic, parsely, minced onion, paprika, Italian seasonings and baked.

This is one that is always good for a family. Chicken and rice. Get either a full chicken cut into pieces or one of the family sized pack of chicken parts, boneless and skinless if you get the parts. Preheat the oven to 350. Take a bake pan, we always use an 9 X 11 glass one, put in 2 cups of rice, a can of cream of something soup (chicken, mushroom, celery, whatever you like) and a can full of water, then add enough water to make sure you have at least 4 cups of liquid. Add some basic seasoning like parsley on top, no salt as the soup has salt in it. Place the chicken on top and cover the rice, then cover with foil. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour in the oven until the chicken is done, depends on if it is a whole chicken or parts, and what parts. Takes about an hour to an hour and a quarter from start to finish with about 15 minutes of prep if that and the cooking time. Enjoy!

I am a huge chicken fan myself, but there are so many diff ways to make it, bbq it,marinate it,boil it,fry it,deep fry it,bake it in the oven,my favorite though are ranch chicken wings, you buy a packet of hidden valley ranch dressing, put it in a bowl then add 1/4 cup of vegetable oil and stir it, then take the chicken wings and dip them into the mix until each one is covered with the ranch, then once they are done, bake them in the oven on 375 for 45 minutes! they are the best ever, and decently heavy...yummy!
