Do you believe everything you read online?

A wise man once said "Smart is when you believe only half of what you hear." Don't always believe everything you hear. How many times have you heard that saying in your life? Just because someone said something negative about someone does not mean that it is true. I have found that people will talk negative about someone just for the sake of talk and ruining that person's reputation. Then others with no knowledge of the situation will stick in their two cents, which brings up the question.... Do you believe everything you read online? Do you judge people without knowing them?

No, I don't believe everything that I read online. I try to do my homework and research before I come to a conclusion of what I read online. I have done that in the past judging someone before I knew them because someone else said something about them. Now I am older so I don't listen to everything I hear about someone. I make my own judgments now. I make sure I have my facts straight first before judging. My ideal goal is to see something good in everyone but even then that is hard to do in some cases. I am skeptical of things I read on-line and will check things out before believing them. As far as judging people based on hearsay, I try not to, since I once victimized by vicious rumors. It's an aweful feeling having people judge you and look down on you based on lies.

I don't believe everything I read, online, in the newspapers and in books.I don't believe everything I hear as people like to gossip. I judge people after I get to know them not before. When I was younger I judged people after one or two meetings and the majority of the time I made mistakes.

It's funny you should ask! I recently received an email, pleading with all that it was sent to, not to vote for Barack Obama because he is an Islamic Muslim and a terrorist plant that will destroy our country if elected President. I know the person that sent it to me is a very prejudiced and bigoted person, so I just shook my head, deleted it and replied in an email to them that they shouldn't be sending this crap out to people and not to believe all they read online. This same person sent me an email about Dr. Martin Luther King that was full of such nasty things this person actually thought to be true. This person was upset that he has a holiday just for him and our Presidents have one holiday for all of them. Some people are so weakminded or bigoted that they believe things they read online just because someone else told them it was actual. Speaking for myself, I don't make judgements about people I don't know. I always try to do my research with reliable and non-biased sources. PEACE

Well, I think we ALL JUDGE, whether we admit it or not! But NO, I DON'T believe everything I read, HERE, or anywhere ELSE, 4 that matter! U can't believe everything u hear OR c! And, on the internet, it's so EASY 2 FABRICATE information! Behind a computer keyboard, u can basically be whoever u WANNA be! So I agree!

I dont believe everything i read. I will analyse the situation and then come to a conclusion. We cant take a decision based on what we hear from others, they may see it in their prospective and it may be wrong. It is better to know the happenings fully and then to decide whether to believe or not

If the majority says something wrong, you might want to consider the possibility that perhaps something is wrong. That's pretty much a second guideline I live by in reading stuff, although I always make the final judgment when and wherever I like. In case of people this might already be online simply by their attitude or offline by getting to know them better for real. In case of texts and such the ones backed up with most plausible evidence.

It would be wise to get to know someone before making assumptions.
