I have used pumice stones for years but not for my feet!!!! It is great for removing a ring that is sometimes in your toilet bowl that no amount of cleaner really gets rid of, just rub ithe pumoce stone on the ring and like magic it is gone.

I used to use one all the time when we had our huge garden tub. I stopped when we moved to our tiny apartment with only a shower. I think it really helped to smooth my rough dry feet. I should buy a new one.

I started using one of those years ago. The first thing I learned was that I had to be far more gentle and you can't 'erase' a calous, hahaha. Now I use it each day after my bath or shower, after the skin's a little softer. I only stroke the pumice over it two or three times on each area and my skin likes it better that way. I use it on my elbows, knees, and mostly my feet. Sometimes in the summer I use it on the palm of my hands because I get calouses there from hoeing and working in the garden and stuff. The pumice stone I use now has finer 'holes' (or whatever you call them.) The finer ones don't irritate the skin as much as the ones I was getting at the Dollar Store. After bathing & pumicing I take regular vaseline and put a light coat over those areas and work it into the skin. It's been much softer doing it that way. Regular lotion doesn't seal the moisture in quite the same way that vaseline does.

What a brilliant invention for our poor dry skin. i notice when i walk around bare feet allday my skin does need a god work out with the pumice stone and it feels so much better afterward.
Also, as I smoke roll-ups I tend to get a stain on my fingers *YUK*, but the hany pumice does the trick and gets rid of all the evidence.

Jeez I used a pumice stone all the time before I got sick. I haven't even thought about it for over 6 years...I think I need to go get one...sandal season is here and boy are my feet in rough shape...Thanks for the reminder. I used to have one with and without a handle. I liked the one without the handle better.

I love my pumice stone. I have one that is the size of a half bar of soap and then I have one that has a handle on it. I tend to use the one with the handle more oftne. I think I got it at Bath & Body works. It does a pretty good job. Like you, I find that my feet get rougher as I age.

I guess it is working just fine for me but not as good as I want it to. I have to use it everyday to get a good result.

I have had a problem with a callus on the ball of my right foot for several years. I tried the callus removers that you can buy at Wal-Mart to remove them, but they tend to get expensive, and the removal doesn't last long. After that I tried the pumice stone. I haven't noticed that they have returned yet. I think they have been gone for about six months. My two cents on this subject. Does anyone else have an opinion?

I am interested in your responses to this one too. I bought myself a pumice stone a few weeks ago and have begun to use it a few times a week in the tub on my feet. I haven't noticed any results yet, but I have heard about others using it. Hope it works. Glad you posted this discussion by the way :)

I've never used one.
I haven't actually heard of the stone, but it sounds quite interesting.
