id say the bacolod chicken inasal... have never tried JTs resto, since i dont know where it is located, but i have tried the real inasal when i went to bacolod.. yummy!!!

I have never had Philippines food before - and I have no idea what the cuisinine is liked. I've asked my friend, who is from there and he said it's gross. Not very descriptive just that it's gross. So, can you tell me what some of your food is like, because I don't like to take one person's word for it.

I'm a vegetarian... do you have any vegetarian foods? I think he was complaining about the pork.

we have lots of vegetable cuisines here too, since we are mostly agricultural country.. we have chopsuey (like chinese) consisting of bean sprouts, cabbage and celery.. then theres the famous pinakbet with bitter mellon, eggplant, tomato, ginger, okra, string beans and others. then another famous spicy veggie cuisine is the laing, a spicy and creamy dish of gabi (taro) leaves with chili cooked in coconut milk. and there are lots more! you still can enjoy our cuisine with these veggies..

he said that? theres nothing gross in most of our regional cuisines! the inasal is chicken sauteed in herbs and spices then grilled. bagnet is pork deep fried. sizzling sisig is dish made from pigs head and usually seasoned with lemon and chili, although now most sisig have the meat in it.. longganisa is a local version of chorizo... if you try them, i assure you (100%) that you'll gonna love them and will be asking for more! ;)

I wasn't able to watch that program, but for me, the best regional cuisines would have to be bagnet, pork sisig (the really crispy one), lucban longganisa and vigan longganisa.

i also like them, but i had been eating vigan longganisa and bagnet since i was a teener! so im not that excited to see them in my dinner plate, unlike chicken inasal, which is hard to find here in the metro...you can find chicken inasal here and there but the real taste isnt there...
back in vigan there was this resto that served pasta with longganisa! it was the best.. sad to say they dont serve that one anymore.. another vigan cuisine, empanada and ukoy! yummy...
