What do you have on, around and next to your pc?

No matter how often I put things away I always have a lot more things around my monitor and on my desk than I need. Just for fun I have 6 small stuffed animals sitting on top of my monitor that have come from different places I've been. Whenever I look up there I get to remember something nice. On one side of my monitor is my digital camera, a pen holder filled with pens, most of which don't work..lol...one of my speakers, nail polish because I do my nails while I'm online, and assorted notepads. This is also the side I keep whatever I'm drinking on whether it be soda, coffee, tea or water. The other side has my cable modem, the other speaker, ashtray, cell and landline phones, cigarettes and lighter. Actually for some reason this side is less cluttered. Maybe because I'm right handed and it's the left side. Directly in front of me, under the front of my monitor I have my debit cards for that all important online ordering...lol... What's on your desktop with your monitor? Care to share?

I have all kinds of things on my computer desk. Everything seems to get dumped on my computer. Besides the normal computer stuff I have photos, teddy bear and dof knick knacks. Bills, childrens school work, pens, pencils, scissors, medicines, landline telphone, wireless router,cd player, hair ties. I think that everything but the kitchen sink is on my computer desk. Thats why I will sometimes go and borrow my fiancees computer. LOL

I'm still trying to figure out why everything gets dumped here. It's like my pc is the catch all of my apartment. Nice to know I'm not alone.

I have a lot of files on my computer desktop. When I use the internet, I leave many tabs open(Firefox and Netscape have this option). Around my PC is just miscellaneous things. Lotion, house keys, wallet, comb, pick, brush, head phones, paper, cologne, etc. It's so cluttered that I can't touch the desk without knocking something over. Next to my PC desk is a nice black chair where I leave my back pack and a few clothes. Alright, I think you get the idea. Just wanted to share it though. Great topic!

lol...I definitely get the idea. If I had gone on it would have taken me pages to write it all down. Now that I'm using Firefox I also have a lot of tabs open and that just goes along with the rest of my mess....!

Well, not just my monitor, but my keyboard, mouse, tower and printer. The cable modem, speakers and wireless router. My daughter's landline and postage meter for her ebay business. Digital cameras (4 I think) cell phones and chargers, also 4. Pictures of all my grandkids. And a lamp. And my younger daughter's laptop. Because I have the largest desk in the house, it has also become the dumping ground for orphaned items. So I also have all the bills, a stack of my daughters papers for filing, my day runner, daughter's business cards, a few dishes, a gardening glove, a piece of tile from the outdoor table, a bag of seeds, the binder with the household menu/recipes/chore charts/shopping list, my son's baseball cap, a can of compressed air for cleaning the keyboard, pictures the grandkids drew, assorted magazines, my bottle of soda, a set of books with nursery rhymes, batteries, some cds, tape, more batteries, a battery charger and the TV remote. It's a big desk.

I feel so much better knowing I"m not the only one with things that I don't need sitting here. Selling on ebay we have to have so many other things close at hand don't we?

At the moment my computer desk is a mess. My boyfriend is a musician, so on either side of the laptop there are monitors, a soundcard and a huge Korg keyboard for when he makes his music. I have all my photography stuff, my make-up and hair straighteners on the desk too. I have my ciggies and an ashtray, too. MESSYYY.

I find it so funny that we females always have some kind of personal products like nail polish and things for our hair around our pc's. Don't you?

Even though I only have a laptop and it seems like not much space would be needed for that... I have a ton of stuff on my desk. Behind the computer is the giant monitor for my old desktop. The monitor works perfectly fine, it's just not hooked up to anything. To the sides of the monitor are a bunch of papers, and on the other side there is a box with a bunch of pens and markers in it. Then off to the side is the space I just cleaned not long ago, but it's already filled with stuff again... There is my coaster for putting drinks on, a picture frame with a photo of my best friends, my wallet, an empty Pocky box, letters, envelopes, catalogues... basically a big pile of papers. Also there are stuffed animals around there too. On the top shelf is the most stuff though! Plus, it's all decoration except my crazy long necked lamp and speakers that aren't even plugged in anymore. There are cards I have gotten from people, like my most cherished and cute birthday cards. My Yu Yu Hakusho action figures are posed up there, though they keep falling over all the time. There are a bunch of fake flowers (mostly purple roses) stuck in the neck of the lamp. There is also a lava lamp, some more photographs, a bunch of random toys and little decoration objects, and then the DSL box all the way on the end. There are also a bunch of pictures stapled to the wall next to my desk, but... I won't go into that since I already listed too many things!

I think it would be easier to end up with a lot of unwanted stuff if I was on a laptop....their so much smaller and leave so much more empty space to fill.

Nice thing to share ! My Pc is placed on a compact PC table, and thus I do not have much place to keep things, though I always love some show pieces and decorations. I have two CD albums in the left side of the monitor. Behind that is the modem. Above one of the two CD albums, is a plywood portrait of Lord Ganesha. On the right side of the monitor there is only a pen stand with one pen and one drawing brush in it. I use that drawing brush to dust my keyboard. That's the whole arrangement.

Reading these responses I'm still finding things that I have to add to my mess. Maybe I'll take some junk away and add what I need. Like the brushes....always handy for the keyboard.

I have two monitors, speakers, two stacks of CD(each stack has about 50 in it), a screwdriver, some screws, some coins, half a pen, some mints, a rock, and an NES cartridge. On the shelf under one of my monitors I have some books, some cellphones, more CDs, more coins, more screws, more mints, and my car keys.

Well actually I keep my desk top cleaned off as much as possible. I have the normal stuff that one might find on their computer. The printer, speakers, and disks. As I am sitting by my computer I will have a Mountain Dew by me. There are some small items like pens and change.

Well, I also have lots of things around my monitor and the most interesting is that i don't need most of these. It is just a mess! Pens, pencils, my gsm, the USB cable (because I often transfer data to my phone), notebooks, sheets of paper, my headphones because i am addicted to music, my webcam, Orbit, rubber, my contact lenses' container and this kind of things. This is just my room and this is the place around my computer and it wouldn't be the same if i put it in order. Maybe that's the reason why my mother doesn't work on my computer :)

Absolutely, I don't really need a third of the things that stare me in the face while I'm on my pc. Clean up today for sure.

I'm in office now. There are many stuffs around my computer. My handphone, my cups, pen & pencil, highlighters, notepad, biscuit container, and mostly a whole stacks of papers. Luckily I'm using laptop at work, otherwise I'll have more stuffs on my desk.

I'm afraid to think of the mess I would have if I were using a laptop on my desk! There would be so much more room for so much more junk!

LOL - I have a laptop which is on a little bed table that sets over my legs - I'm reclining on my bed so legs are under my PC, blankets and pillows next to it. Across the room in front of me is TV and window facing front yard and main street.

As I read all of these responses I realize that I'm missing things I should have here and have so much to get rid of! I also spend the majority of my time sitting behind my pc.

A lot of folks thought I was daft to get such a large desk for my computer, and I got it before I got my computer a few months ago......I mean this is a DESK--but I knew with all the stuff I was going to have on it I needed the space..so there's room for my printer, my scanner and the computer monitor and keyboard...since I have a Mac, the processor is in the monitor itself..no extra tower ---nearby I also have a cute ceramic holder for my pens, pencils..then I have nooks and crannies to hold my printer paper, books, files with papers etc etc...on top of the hutch area though I gave it a little personality...sort of a southwestern American theme..a lamp with a wolf scene painted on it..Native American type bowls, a miniature NativeAmerican canoe, teepee, a figure of a wolf--have a wolf thing..and a figurine of a Sioux woman in traditional clothing sitting down near a wolf...on the wall are my Lord of The Rings posters and Chronicles of Narnia poster as well

I can see why you got a large desk to begin with, you obviously had a plan. I'm in the market for a new and much bigger desk myself so I can have the important stuff closer at hand. Either that or get rid of a lot of things...lol...which I know I won't do any time soon.

In my desk, I got my cellphone, DVD-R's Printer ballpen, pencil, papers and sometimes cup of coffe. I just hate my cellphone when someone sending messages or when someone called me. The monitor looks crazy when it happens.
