Book Of Treasured Words...

Love and Encouragement - A few treasured words for all my friends in return for the love, support and encouragement they have shown me.

For a few years now, I've kept a Book of Treasured Words in which I write the special words people say to me. Until I joined Mylot, my entries were occasional, but I wanted you all to know that in the last six months or so, since I joined this community, I have made a lot of really special friends. By special, I mean really caring, compassionate and loving people who would move hell and high water to give me support and for whom, I would do the same. Since I came onto this site, I have experienced great encouragement, support, strength and love from several members, to the point that I am overwhelmed. Just tonight, I read some words written to me which touched my very soul, and had to take time off the computer because I was so emotional. These words, together with others which I treasure, will comfort me when I'm down and indeed, give me the inspiration to move forward and be happy in the knowledge that I have such friends. What has this to do with my book... well, let me tell you! Your meaningful, tear-jerking, love-filled comments have almost filled my Book, to the point that I now have to buy extra pages for it. So, this post is to thank all those people who have touched my life, and indeed, my heart, with their thoughtful, caring ways and with their encouragement to show my work. You all know who you are, so give yourselves a big ((((((((((HUGGGGGGGGGGG))))))))))) from me. I will never forget a single one of you. I'd like you all to receive my Brightest Blessings, in perfect love and perfect light. Forever may the eternal light shine on you, the brightest stars in the night sky!! Thank you all so very much. xxx

What a wonderful idea that is Darkwing honey! I am sure lots of people give you words to treasure - it is easy to do for such a lovely person! Whenever you feel a bit down or unappreciated all you have to do is open your book to remind yourself that people love you and value your friendship - surely enough to make anyones confidence soar! It is nice to hear that your book is full now - yiu certainly deserve to hear nice things about yourself! xxx

Hi Mummymo... yes my Book is very valuable to me when I feel down. There's perhaps a little tear to start with but when the loving words are weighed up against the down times, the former always wins out, or at least balances, and give you the boost to go on. Brightest Blessings, my friend. x

It's a very valuable and inspirational thing to have Feral... you would do well to start one. It's so easy to forget the lovely things friends say to you, as years pass, but the Book is there to open at any time I'm feeling blue. Give it a go! You won't regret it. If you'd like me to, I'll write you a poem to start it off. How's that for encouragement? Brightest Blessings my friend. I do love your avatar... I keep enlarging it to examine that fabulous clown image more closely. Have a good day! x

I'd really love it if you'd write a poem for the book. It'd be great to have it as my first entry - especially as it's from you my friend. Thank you so much. lol

:-) Thank you Lakota. It was just a way of remembering what people had said to me to inspire me. Sometimes, such wonderful words are spoken and a week or so later, they're forgotten. That was something I didn't want to do, so I recorded them. x

Oh! that's a good one to keep for lifetime. During my high school days i have made a "souvenir notebook" where in my friends write down their messages or anything they like to say to me. I have kept it until now for almost 15 years and from time to time i have to glance at it and read those messages written. It really touches my heart also and though i seldom seen those friends of mine but they hold a special place in my heart and i will always keep them for life. For now i have communicate some of them with the use of internet, so glad that my worked area has internet and i can access on some of my high school friends. I was indeed grateful also when i joined my lot community not just i found friends like you...but able to experienced words of encouragement, strenght and love from friends new set of friends all around the globe. It's so nice to have so many friends around the globe. Hope you would considered me those friends that you will keep for lifetime because to me i will keep you for lifetime also. Hope one day we would be given a chance to see in person if time allows us. Have a nice day.

It would seem that your book is a similar book but with a different name. Great minds think alike, huh? You're right... it's wonderful to look back on all the memories and the things your friends say or write about you. As for considering you as one of my friends, of course I do... you're a very special person, and it would be nice to meet up someday. I don't know whether that would happen, but just the same, it's a nice thought to keep us going through the bad days, huh? Brightest Blessings, and thank you for your input. +

Darkwing, it's such a lovely idea, keeping a book of treasured words and all! I mean, most of us are so frazzled by the pace of our lives that we hardly seem to even notice the nice things that people say and do to us. Not that we forget the good deeds that people do, for we can always remember the nice things that a person has done to us, when we think about the person, but we don't generally think about the nice things about us or the people who have done nice things to us when we are feeling upset and blue. If we were to keep a book like yours, all that we would need to do is to skim through its pages and we would feel better, almost immediately! I'm going to get myself a book with a great number of pages and start recording every single nice thing that happens to me! Thanks tons, Darkwing. Trust you to come up with a brilliant idea like this!

Awwwww, I'm glad you've decided to start a book yourself, Vanilla. You're right though... it is very easy to forget words that people have spoken. You either tend to forget them completely, or you changed them around and add or minus bits. It was when my grandson passed on and I was remembering some of the things he had said to me, that I decided that I didn't want them to get lost in time, so I started my book. I hope you get yours filled very quickly my friend. I'm sure you will and I hope too, that you enjoy every moment you spend reading it. Brightest Blessings.

An earlier person to respond, suggested that I publish it, which I hadn't really thought of but now she's suggested it, it could make a good book of collective inspirational quotes, I guess. Thank you for your input and Brightest Blessings.

I really admire you for having having the persistence. I did something like that last time but did not continue after a while as I get too lazy to do the updates. It was handcopy as I do not have computer. Perhaps now with computers, I should continue with it. It is much easier to copy and paste. Thanks for reminding. And yes, here are some big HUGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSS for you.

Awwwwwww, thank you for the hugs, Why. Wow... we could get a whole big section of Mylot starting Books of Treasured Words. Wouldn't that be just great, my friend? I do like to write by hand, but I have to print them off first, if the words are given online. I keep a daily journal as well, so it does take quite a bit of writing, but it's sure worth it in the end. You take care my friend, and have a great day!

This is such a great idea, darkwing. I know sometimes i read some beautiful things that i would like to remember, but then i forget. I sometimes save things to my computer, but they have been wiped when something goes wrong with the silly thing. An old friend of mine did something similar when she was pregnant many years ago. She started a book that she wrote her feelings in and different stages of the pregnancy and birth, and then continued on after the baby was born and the things that went on in her sons life. Friends on here are so caring about each other, it overwelms me. Warm, big hugs to you, Darkwing. And thank you too for being such a wonderful person. Best wishes

Yes memories can be very precious moments, especially with children. It wasn't until my grandson's last year or so that we realised we had no solid memories, so we bought a video cam between us. Now we have videos to look back on, which are naturally, treasured. When you save your bits to the computer Kay, why don't you print them off and put them on a file. They're always nicer hand written if you can find the time to transfer them, but that can always be done later as long as you keep a hard copy. Brightest Blessings, and thank you Kay... sweet sentiments from another special person.
