Next weekend I will be attending the birthday party of my neices little daughter. She is turning 1 years old. Do you have any gift ideas? I don't get to see her very often, so I'm not sure what she already has. I thought about getting her a cute outfit, but I'm sure she has a ton of clothes already. Her mom likes to shop! LOL. What else would be good for a 1 year old?

At age one, the child will be beginning to pull up and walk. Therefore, any of the little toys that one pushes along would be great. Summer is coming,so perhaps one of the little toys that a child pushes outside. I know that there are little plastic grocery carts, vacuum cleaners etc.

My son LOVES Blue's Clues, Wonder Pets, etc... You should ask the mom what her child likes! That would be your best bet! :)

find out what everyone else is getting her and then buy her like clothes size 1 or just a teddybear or some musical toy as all kids love musical toys. But first find out what everyone else is getting her nd if it is mailnly clothes get her a toy or if it maily toys then clothes. Get her a size 2 or something so she can grow into it.

also perhaps ask the parents if there is something they wanted to get her but couldn't and maybe you can get that or ask what she likes.

Maybe you could give her an interactive toy that is suitable for 1 year old. I heard that this type of toys can stimulate the child's brain development. Other thing you can buy is book.

I would call her mother and ask her. Sometimes, she'll know what everyone else is getting, so that will give you some sort of clue. Anything that makes noise is good. Little ones love noisy things. (and it drives parents bonkers..lol) I always ask the parent first. I would hate to buy someting that they really don't need.

I called her mom. She said some outdoor toys would be nice. Something that grows with the child. I'm gonna go shopping this weekend and see what I can find. The baby is walking now, so maybe something for outside that she can hold on to and walk with.

My little girl loved Elmo at that age. Still does. Maybe she would appreciate something from Sesame street. But, I do agree with the person that mentioned that you should talk to her mom first. She may have a particular favorite and wouldn't it be nice to add something unique to her collection! Babies are babies, though. And, I doubt that she will remember the gift in five years. But, the amazing warm feeling of being surrounded by friends and family will stay with her forever.

Books are always good. Board books or cloth books that can't be tore up easily. A small drum would be fun too as one year olds love to bang.

Well, since here mom loves to shop, why not give a shopping voucher. Or, I would suggest a flash cards so she can start learning. Check with her mom what she has otherwise it will be duplicate.
